At least 17 people were injured and 2 people died after a tragic accident at km 201 of Phap Van - Cau Gie road when a speeding passenger bus crashed into the back of a truck, causing both vehicles to flip over into a field.

The accident occurred at 8:30 p.m. on December 7, 2015. At that time, the passenger bus with license plate 37B-01544 of Hung Thuy Transport Company was carrying passengers from Hanoi to Ha Tinh at high speed, lost control of the steering wheel and crashed into the back of a truck traveling in the same direction, causing the front of the passenger bus to completely deform the back of the truck.

Due to great inertia, both vehicles crashed into dozens of meters of embankment before flipping over into a field in To Hieu commune, Thuong Tin district, Hanoi.

Two bus assistants, Nguyen Ngoc Quyen and Tuan Anh, died on the spot, and at least 17 seriously injured passengers were taken to the emergency room.

Immediately after the accident, local people and authorities arrived to provide rescue assistance. Dozens of ambulances and police cars were present at the scene to take the victims to the emergency room. The scene was blocked off for dozens of kilometers at both ends to facilitate rescue operations. At 0:00 on December 8, a crane arrived at the location to rescue the two vehicles involved in the accident.

Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Deputy Director of the Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security and Colonel Vu Thai Hung, Deputy Director of the Criminal Investigation Police Department of Hanoi Police were present at the scene to coordinate the investigation into the cause of the accident.
