Truck crashes into passenger bus, 1 dead and 2 injured

(Baonghean) -At 2:10 a.m. this morning (September 9), on National Highway 1A, passing through Dien An Commune (Dien Chau - Nghe An), a serious traffic accident occurred between a truck and a passenger bus, killing 1 person and injuring 2 others. National Highway 1A was congested for more than 3 hours.

According to local residents, at the time, a wood-carrying truck with license plate 37S-4867 was traveling in the North-South direction when it reached the above road section and hit the side of a sleeper bus with license plate 43S-6610 traveling in the direction from Da Nang to Hanoi.

The collision killed the truck driver on the spot, while the bus driver and assistant were seriously injured and rushed to the hospital. Fortunately, all passengers on the bus were unharmed.

The identities of the victims have not yet been determined, however, according to local residents, the truck driver is from My Thanh commune (Yen Thanh - Nghe An).

At the scene of the accident, all the wood on the truck had fallen onto the road. At around 5am this morning, the two damaged vehicles were taken to the 1-5 Traffic Police Station (Nghe An Police). The truck was completely deformed, the passenger car had damage to the side and rear of the vehicle.
The accident caused traffic congestion on the highway for more than 3 hours. Highway 1A was cleared at 7am this morning.

The case is currently being investigated by Dien Chau police.
