Truck crashes into oil tanker

(Baonghean.vn) -At about 4:30 p.m. on April 22, on National Highway 1A in Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa province, a traffic accident occurred, causing National Highway 1A at km 381+491 (south of the White Bridge) to be congested for about 8 km in both directions.

It is known that at the above time, the coal truck with license plate 98K-7576 traveling from Hanoi to Vinh crashed into the back of a gasoline tanker (license plate unknown), traveling in the same direction, causing a hole in the rear compartment, causing about 5,000 liters of gasoline to spill onto the road, causing a fierce fire, while the remaining 4 compartments were fortunately not punctured. The fire burned fiercely. Immediately, the people called the Thanh Hoa Fire Prevention and Fighting Police to dispatch 2 fire trucks to the scene with dozens of officers and soldiers to block both directions to put out the fire, and towed the burnt tanker to the Tinh Gia district police headquarters to await handling.

After more than an hour, the fire was extinguished. The collision caused a partial blockage of Highway 1A from Truong Lam to Hoang Mai (Nghe An) until 7 p.m. when it was gradually reopened. Fortunately, there were no casualties in the accident, and the tanker did not explode, thus avoiding casualties to vehicles on the road and local residents.

The case is currently being investigated by the authorities.
