Reviewing policies to support plant and animal varieties for ethnic minority people in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - Voters in mountainous districts requested the province to continue to have policies to support quality plant and animal varieties for people, especially ethnic minority areas, to develop production and livestock farming.
Regarding this issue, the authorities responded as follows:
After a period of supporting rice and corn varieties for production development, at the request of localities, the Provincial People's Committee submitted and the Provincial People's Council approved Resolution 125/2014 dated July 16, 2014 on agricultural development investment policy, in which the policy on supporting rice and corn varieties was abolished and switched to supporting mechanization development; the Provincial People's Committee concretized the Resolution of the People's Council by Decision No. 87/2014/QD-UBND dated November 17, 2014.

For ethnic minority people: To help people eliminate hunger and reduce poverty and develop production, the Government and the province have had many other support programs and policies such as: Program 134, 135; Resolution 30a, Decision 59/2010/QD-UBND dated August 12, 2010 of the Provincial People's Committee on promulgating a number of poverty reduction support policies for communes with a poverty rate of 30% or more.

In the coming time, the Provincial People's Committee will assign the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to coordinate with relevant departments and branches to continue research to advise the Provincial People's Committee to issue more agricultural policies suitable for ethnic minority areas.
