Trial of 23 defendants for throwing mines at engagement party
(Baonghean.vn) -On March 30, 2015, in Quynh Phuong Ward - Hoang Mai Town, Nghe An Provincial People's Court held a mobile trial of the case of 23 defendants who threw mines at an engagement party on the night of December 24, 2013, injuring 4 people.

According to the indictment at the trial, on the night of December 24, when the family of Mr. Mach Quang Hanh (born in 1954, residing in Ai Quoc block, Quynh Phuong ward) was holding an engagement ceremony for their daughter, suddenly a group of about 20 people drove their motorbikes into the house. Before anyone could understand what was happening, the group used knives and machetes to attack Mr. Hanh's family. Next, the subjects threw 5 mines into the crowd and into Mr. Hanh's house. Fortunately, only 3 of the mines exploded, injuring 4 people present at the engagement ceremony. Immediately after committing the crime, the group of strange young men quickly escaped from the scene.
Through the investigation of the scene, the police discovered and seized 2 unexploded homemade mines, 3 holes in Mr. Hanh's yard caused by the explosion and 3 motorbikes that were severely damaged.
The court will announce the verdict for the 23 defendants on the morning of March 31, 2015./.
