Xieng My (Tuong Duong): Implementing the project of assigning tasks to help poor households
(Baonghean.vn) -On July 12, the People's Committee of Xieng My commune (Tuong Duong) held a conference to deploy the Project to assign departments, branches, mass organizations and agencies and units in the area to support poverty reduction in the period 2013-2020.
The purpose of the project is to change the awareness of escaping poverty on the basis of improving the ability to apply science and technology in production, effectively using state capital. At the same time, it enhances the responsibility of all levels, sectors, mass organizations and cadres, civil servants and workers in the commune in helping poor households, contributing to the goal of rapid and sustainable poverty reduction. This is considered an important content in implementing the campaign "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh".

Based on the assessment of the situation, the Conference's objectives are to determine that each department, branch, organization, agency, and unit will help one poor household each year; strive to reduce the poverty rate of the whole commune by 5% or more each year, and by 2020, the poverty rate will drop below 35%. Regarding implementation solutions, the Conference clearly states the tasks of departments, branches, organizations, agencies, and units; the Commune Poverty Reduction Board and each household and clan. The implementation roadmap includes 2 phases: From 2013-2015, each department, branch, organization, organization, agency, and unit will receive a pilot program to help one poor household escape poverty per year; From 2016-2020, it will be implemented widely throughout the commune, towards each civil servant and public employee receiving assistance to help at least one poor household escape poverty.
Along with the issuance of the project, the People's Committee of Xieng My commune issued a decision assigning departments, branches, mass organizations and agencies and units to help poor households in villages in the commune.
