Massage and arthritis
Massage is not only effective in relieving muscle tension, but can also be a necessary therapy for people suffering from chronic pain due to arthritis or muscular dystrophy.
According to expert Justin Crane of McMaster University (Canada), his team discovered that massage therapy simultaneously activates biochemical sensors, which have the effect of reducing inflammation in muscle cells. In addition, massage also stimulates the muscles to build more mitochondria, the energy center of the cell that plays an important role in healing damage. The test results showed that during the massage process, the muscle feels that it is being stretched and this has reduced the inflammatory response of the cells.
