Khe Xai 1 Hamlet donated land for road construction
Although he is over 60 years old, when there was a policy to build an inter-village road, Mr. Le Thang Long - Khe Xai 1 hamlet, Nghia Loc commune (Nghia Dan) was one of the first supporters of the hamlet. According to the new traffic markers, his family had to lose more than 1,500m.2cassava growing area, which means that the family's income decreases by 6 million VND each year. However, the biggest wish of him and the people of Khe Xai 1 hamlet is to have a wide road to travel on, instead of the small road before. Therefore, he volunteered to donate 3 sao of cassava land in the development period and discussed with his wife to support an additional 5 million VND for the hamlet to build traffic works.
Khe Xai 1 hamlet has 140 households, mainly doing agriculture. In 2011, in the new rural construction program, Nghia Loc commune had a policy of mobilizing people to donate land to build roads, including Khe Xai 1 hamlet. With more than 1 km of inter-village road connecting Khe Xai 1 hamlet with Son Hai hamlet and connecting Ho Chi Minh road, the people of Khe Xai 1 hamlet voluntarily donated more than 2 hectares of forestry land and rice land. Among them, there are many households such as Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong's family, a poor household, whose husband died early but donated more than 6 sao of cassava land, Mr. Vu Van An's family donated 3 sao of cassava land and supported 5 million VND. 140 households donated money and labor days to build the road. At this time, the hamlet is focusing on human resources and renting machinery to complete the road as soon as possible.
Mr. Lai Van Vinh - Head of Khe Xai 1 Hamlet, said: "The people of Khe Xai 1 Hamlet still face many difficulties, and live on agriculture, but when there was a policy to build a road, many households were still not connected. Faced with that situation, the hamlet executive committee held a meeting and went to each house to mobilize. With the motto "slow and steady wins the race", after only one month, the people of Khe Xai 1 agreed to support, in addition to donating land, 4 families also donated a total of 11.5 million VND".
Nghia Loc is the commune with the largest area and population in Nghia Dan district, with 27 hamlets, of which 17 hamlets have households of religious people living with 4 ethnic groups. The Party Committee and the commune government clearly identify the importance of mass mobilization work, so they regularly follow the grassroots to grasp the aspirations of the people, creating consensus among the people. In the new rural construction program, in addition to strengthening the conversion of crop structure, the commune advocates building a rural transport system. Mr. Le Van Thanh - Deputy Secretary of the Commune Party Committee, said: "With the goal of renewing the rural face of the commune, Nghia Loc has proposed many measures, in which the interests of the people must be resolved promptly, creating trust for the people. From there, the people have strongly responded to the programs proposed by the commune. The actions of the people of Khe Xai 1 hamlet in donating land to build roads have created a widespread influence throughout the commune.
