(Baonghean.vn) - A large pot of boiling water was just taken off the stove to cook chicken, Nhat (born in 2014) ran over and fell into the pot, suffering burns over 50%. What is worth mentioning is that the disaster happened when he was suffering from pneumonia and otitis media and was hospitalized, but because of family matters, he asked to go home to treat himself.

Le Van Nhat is the second son of Le Van Binh (born in 1984) and Duong Thi Hoi (born in 1993) in Luan Phu hamlet, Dong Van commune, Thanh Chuong district. The couple works as farmers and construction workers to earn extra income to raise their three children. On March 4, Nhat had a high fever and was constantly crying. He went to Thanh Chuong hospital for examination and was diagnosed with pneumonia and otitis media. He was ordered to be hospitalized for treatment. Binh explained that because his family had to prepare a feast, he asked for a prescription for his son to be treated at home for one day and then hospitalized for inpatient treatment.

Nhat's burns were over 50%, from chest to feet. Doctors predicted that his heart, liver, and lungs would be severely damaged.

To prepare for tomorrow's feast, the family boiled a large pot of water to cook chicken. Nhat ran to get the phone his father left beside him to see when he suddenly slipped and fell into the pot of boiling water that had just been lifted from the stove. Hearing his son's painful screams, Binh ran to pick him up and found that his son had been burned from his chest down to his feet. His whole body was red and raw.

After first aid at the District Hospital, the child was transferred to the Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital that same night. Because the burn area was too large, the doctor recommended limiting movement to avoid skin tears that could easily lead to infection. But in the early morning of March 6, because the child continued to have a high fever and convulsions, the ambulance promptly transferred him to the Emergency Resuscitation Department of the National Burn Institute (Hanoi) for treatment. With a burn rate of over 50% from the chest down to the feet, the doctor predicted that the heart, liver, and lungs would be severely damaged, the treatment process would be prolonged, and recovery would be difficult to predict.

Because of the pain, Nhat cried until his voice was hoarse. Every time the bandage was changed, the doctor had to anesthetize him and asked his family to go far away from the quarantine area. Because they had no money to pay the hospital fee, the Cat Linh Charity Association called on them to donate 10 million VND to Nhat. After borrowing 10 million VND, his grandmother took a taxi to spend, while Ms. Hoi had to stay home with her youngest son, Le Van Thanh. Thanh, who was over a year old, was constantly hospitalized for pneumonia treatment. The cycle of being hospitalized for 15 days, being discharged for 10 days and then being hospitalized for 15 days lasted continuously for several months, causing Thanh's health to be very weak. Since the accident happened to her son, Ms. Hoi has been in pain day and night, both loving her son, worrying, and feeling remorseful for her carelessness that caused the accident to happen to her son. Relatives and neighbors ran back and forth day and night to help her with housework and encouraged her to try to overcome it so she could take care of her two children at home.

After the disaster happened to Nhat's family, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Dong Van Commune (Thanh Chuong) assigned the Commune Youth Union to write a letter calling on Dong Van's children and people from all over the country to support Nhat to have funds for treatment.
