(Baonghean.vn) -On October 24, at the People's Committee of Ngoc Son commune, the People's Court of Quynh Luu district held a mobile trial, publicly hearing two cases of illegal possession of drugs and theft of property.
According to the indictment of the People's Procuracy of Quynh Luu district, at about 10:00 a.m. on June 15, 2013, the Working Group of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Team of Quynh Luu district police on duty in the Quynh Chau commune area on National Highway 48B caught Nguyen Van Pon (born in 1983, hamlet 1, Quynh Chau commune, Quynh Luu district) red-handed driving a motorbike with license plate 37P8 - 7575 illegally buying and selling drugs to Nguyen Thanh Son. Through investigation, the subject confessed that from the beginning of June 2013 until the time of arrest, he had sold heroin to 5 other subjects in Quynh Luu and Nghia Dan. Through searching the residence, Quynh Luu district police also seized a small package of 0.25 grams of heroin at Pon's private home in hamlet 1, Quynh Chau commune. The court sentenced defendant Nguyen Van Pon to 8 years in prison for illegal drug trafficking.
On the same day, the People's Court of Quynh Luu district held a trial for defendant Tran Phi Long - born in 1984, residing in Ngoc Son commune, Quynh Luu district, for robbery and illegal possession of narcotics. According to the indictment of the People's Procuracy of Quynh Luu district, in August 2013, Tran Phi Long stole a yellow and black Sirius motorbike with license plate 37L1 - 20478 worth about 15 million VND and stored 0.13 grams of heroin for use. It is worth noting that Long is a drug addict who had just completed a 7-year prison sentence on June 25, 2012. Considering the form of repeated crimes, disturbing local security and order, affecting the economy and property of others, the People's Court of Quynh Luu district sentenced defendant Long to 4 years in prison for the two above crimes./.
