Handling 23 vehicle owners who violated regulations while operating at sea

(Baonghean.vn) - On August 20, the Border Guard Station of Cua Lo - Ben Thuy port (Nghe An Border Guard) said: Since the beginning of July, the unit has coordinated with the provincial Department of Inspection and Protection of Aquatic Resources to organize patrols and controls, detecting and handling 23 violating vessels operating at sea.

The main violations committed by the vehicle owners are: using an operating license that is not in accordance with regulations, not having a technical safety certificate, violating regulations on fishing vessel equipment, using a passenger fishing vessel without a license, not declaring the correct positions and number of crew members according to the registered list, installing high-capacity engines but exploiting aquatic products near the shore (offshore areas), and using nets with small mesh sizes to exploit aquatic products in violation of regulations.

Pursuant to Decrees No. 93, 103 and 169/2013/ND-CP of the Government, the Border Guard Station of Cua Lo - Ben Thuy Port has issued a decision to administratively fine the above-mentioned violating vehicle owners a total of VND 118,950,000 to the state budget.
