Flooded motorbikes cause damage to the engine and electrical system. The extent depends on the extent of the flooding and how the owner handles it afterwards. In low-lying areas, the motorbike will stall because the spark plugs are wet, not generating a spark to ignite the combustion process in the combustion chamber. The simple operation is to clean the spark plugs, tilt the motorbike upside down to let the water out of the exhaust pipe and start the motorbike again. Then check other parts to handle if affected.

In case the car is deeply submerged in water for a long time, absolutely do not force the engine to start to avoid broken pistons, damage to the electrical system due to short circuit. Or engine damage due to lack of standard lubricating oil. Then take it to a repair shop for repair.

Motorcycle lubricants that dissolve in water are usually coffee-milk colored. The first thing to do is to drain all the oil from the tank, using a pressure nozzle to squeeze the water-oil mixture out. Do the same with the motorcycle exhaust pipe.

Disassemble the engine to clean the parts with gasoline or specialized solution. Start the vehicle with used lubricating oil to dissolve the remaining water in the tank. Do this about 2-3 times to completely remove the water. Parts that are heavily submerged in water such as spark plugs and air filters often need to be replaced.

Especially for motorbikes using electronic fuel injection technology, injector cleaning must be carried out to avoid future damage due to impurities accumulated before and after water enters the engine. Then check the electrical system such as the starter, lighting for further processing.

Because the customer tried to start the car after it died due to flooding, water entered the engine through the valve and forced the parts to be disassembled to fix it.

The vehicle will be tilted backwards to drain all the water from the exhaust pipe, and the spark plugs will be wiped dry or replaced. The cost for starting the engine without replacing any parts is about 30,000 VND/vehicle. For vehicles that require spark plugs to be replaced, the total cost is 70,000 VND. In cases where the vehicle is flooded too deeply and water enters the air filter, the mechanic must also remove the air filter to clean it or replace it if necessary.

For scooters with air filters located in the middle, under the trunk, the mechanic must remove the entire trunk and air filter to clean it. The cost to fix these vehicles is higher, usually from 70,000 VND to 100,000 VND, if the air filter or spark plugs do not need to be replaced.
