Strictly handle officials who caused deforestation in Don Phuc commune, Con Cuong district

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 25, under the chairmanship of comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee held a regular meeting for August 2015.

Attending were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and leaders of provincial departments and branches.

Overview of the meeting

The meeting listened to and commented on the results of 2 years of implementing Resolution No. 26 - NQ/TW dated July 30, 2013 of the Politburo on the direction and tasks for developing Nghe An province until 2020. Accordingly, the provincial competitiveness index (PCI) in 2014 ranked 28th (up 18 places compared to 2013). The gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in 2014 increased by 7.24%/plan of 7-8%, higher than the growth rate of the last 2 years (2012 increased by 6.1%, 2013 increased by 6.5%). Services developed rapidly and diversified in all fields, the growth rate of total retail sales of goods in 2014 increased by 11% compared to the same period, and the number of tourists increased (2014 reached over 5.563 million arrivals).

Comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee summarized the results of 2 years of implementing Resolution No. 26 - NQ/TWJuly 30, 2013 of the Politburo on the direction and tasks for the development of Nghe An province to 2020.

Over the past two years, Nghe An has attracted many large-scale projects, applying advanced technology and techniques as a premise for the province's development in the following years such as: VSIP industrial park, urban area, service, Hoa Sen Ton factory, Royol Foods Nghe An factory, TH dairy farming and milk processing project, Lan Chau eco-tourism complex construction project, resort villas, sports, entertainment, Cua Lo deep-water port project, Dong Hoi, ...

The total mobilized capital for the implementation of the New Rural Development Program reached over 13.9 trillion VND. In 2014, 33 communes met the standards, by July 2015, 71 communes met the standards, and it is expected that by the end of 2015, about 114 communes will meet the new rural standards.

Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that the report should include the results of implementing traffic infrastructure and power grid infrastructure, while focusing on some key projects such as Quynh Lap thermal power plant.

The health system is growing rapidly, both public and non-public, Nghe An is gradually becoming the medical examination and treatment center of the North Central region. In 2014, new jobs were created for 36,900 workers (an increase of 3,000 people compared to 2013). Poverty reduction work has been strengthened, directed and effectively implemented. The average poverty rate is 7 - 7.5%.

Comrade Le Minh Thong - Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee said that it is necessary to widely propagate the Resolution to all classes of people to create a combined strength and continue to successfully implement Resolution 26.

At the meeting, members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and leaders of departments and branches had many comments on the report on the results of 2 years of implementing Resolution 26 of the Politburo, such as the need to fully supplement achievements in Party building work, supplement results of coordination between departments, branches, provincial level with ministries, branches, branches, and the Central Government, supplement results of implementing traffic infrastructure and power grid infrastructure, need to widely propagate Resolution 26 to all classes of people, review unimplemented contents to continue implementing in the coming time, etc.

Comrade Tran Hong Chau - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council said that the report on the results after 2 years of implementing Resolution 26 of the Politburo has made a realistic assessment, however, it is necessary to add the field of Party building to the report.

Comrade Ho Duc Phoc affirmed that Resolution 26 received support from ministries, departments, branches, the Central Government and many provinces and cities across the country, and the implementation process was coordinated by departments and branches in the province in a drastic, comprehensive and specific manner. The achievements have had a strong impact on the local socio-economic life, creating a new face for Nghe An. The Provincial Party Secretary also requested that in the coming time, it is necessary to continue to effectively implement Resolution 26 of the Politburo, while overcoming the remaining limitations in a number of areas such as planning, site clearance, tourism development, etc. Regarding the report summarizing the results of the implementation of the Resolution, he said that it is necessary to remove some unnecessary recommendations and add some more practical contents.

Comrade Ho Duc Phoc requested that in the coming time, it is necessary to continue to effectively implement Resolution 26 of the Politburo, while overcoming existing limitations in a number of areas such as planning, site clearance, tourism development, etc.

The meeting listened to and gave opinions on the plan to prepare for the Groundbreaking Ceremony of VSIP Nghe An Industrial, Urban and Service Park project. The project, invested by Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park Joint Venture Company Limited, has been approved by the Provincial People's Committee for detailed construction planning and granted an investment certificate by the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board. Legal procedures related to the project have been completed by the investor and the Provincial People's Committee to ensure sufficient conditions for the project to start. According to the plan, the project will be started on September 16.

Comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented the plan to organize the groundbreaking ceremony of VSIP Nghe An Industrial, Urban and Service Park project.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee deployed a number of requirements so that the groundbreaking ceremony would take place solemnly and ensure security.

After listening to the comments of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee members, comrade Ho Duc Phoc emphasized that the VSIP project is a large project, creating a key industrial park for Nghe An in particular and the North Central region in general. The upcoming groundbreaking ceremony is an opportunity to promote the image of Nghe An, so departments and branches must coordinate to organize a solemn reception, the ceremony must be organized carefully, ensuring security and safety for guests attending.

At the meeting, the Standing Committee also heard a report on the inspection of the responsibility of officials who caused the deforestation in Don Phuc commune, Con Cuong district. Considering that this is a particularly serious deforestation case, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee requested relevant levels and sectors to conduct a serious investigation and strictly handle the violating officials and related subjects.
