Wastewater treatment at TH dairy farm
(Baonghean) -With the desire to contribute to building a green industry, TH Milk Food Joint Stock Company has invested in a concentrated dairy farm project in Nghia Lam and Nghia Son communes (Nghia Dan), with the goal of ensuring a close and harmonious combination between livestock production development and environmental protection...
The entire wastewater treatment system at TH Farm uses advanced technology from Aqua, Netherlands. Currently, the capacity of this system can clean up to 1,500 m3 of wastewater per day and the entire system is directly connected via the Internet for monitoring by experts.
Wastewater from TH farm has 2 sources: livestock wastewater (a mixture of water for cleaning barns, water for cooling cows, water for washing equipment and tools, wastewater from cleaning and disinfecting vehicles in and out of the farm...) and domestic wastewater (mainly from administrative areas, canteens, toilets...). All livestock and domestic wastewater is collected and treated to meet GHCP standards according to QCVN 40:2011/BTNMT column A and is licensed to discharge wastewater by competent authorities before being discharged into the environment.

Wastewater is collected separately from the rainwater drainage system and domestic wastewater. The company builds a system to collect manure water into a manure water tank. The livestock wastewater collection system is designed according to the principle that water collected from the isolated barn is concentrated in a disinfection pit and then led to the centralized treatment system; the drainage ditch is designed appropriately to ensure tightness, at the same time the cow barn system with the barn floor has a reasonable slope so that wastewater such as barn washing water, cow bathing water flows through the ditches and pipes to the wastewater treatment isolation area. At each farm cluster, a separate wastewater treatment system is built, located in the central feed area of each cluster.
The technology of centralized wastewater treatment has 3 stages: pre-treatment, biological treatment and fine treatment (chemical treatment). Wastewater after biological, chemical and reduction treatment is discharged into Gia village lake after being licensed by the competent authority.
It can be affirmed that TH Milk Joint Stock Company has seriously implemented environmental protection measures during the production and breeding process. Talking to us, expert Michael David - Director of the TH Farm Wastewater Treatment Center said: "All wastewater from the farm through the above treatment stages has made the water clean and clear, completely odorless. The water will be returned to the natural lake. Wastewater test samples from the TH farm show that the output water of this system fully meets Vietnamese and international environmental standards."
