Handling of vessels violating regulations on fishing at sea.

(Baonghean.vn) - On October 4th, the Quynh Phuong Border Guard Station (Nghe An Border Guard Command) announced that it had coordinated with the Provincial Fisheries Resource Protection Sub-Department to conduct patrols, detect, and arrest two vessels from other provinces using electric shock devices and explosives to catch fish in the waters of Nghe An.

Specifically: the unregistered vessel owned by Le Van Hai, born in 1982, from Hai Ha commune, Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa province, was used for electric fishing; the vessel with license plate TH 91050 TS owned by Nguyen Van Dung, from Hai Thanh commune, Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa province, was found to be in possession of and using explosives for fishing. The seized items included 20 grams of TNT explosive, 10 detonators, and 2 lengths of slow-burning fuse.

Based on the severity of the violations, the Quynh Phuong Border Guard Station issued administrative penalties to the two vehicle owners, totaling 15,500,000 VND, to be paid into the state budget, and confiscated the infringing items.
