Successfully handled the bomb discovered in Tien Thuy commune (Quynh Luu)
(Baonghean.vn) - At 10:00 a.m. on April 22, a bomb about 2 meters long lying deep in the river was brought ashore and successfully destroyed by the Quynh Luu District Military Command.
As we reported, at around 4:00 p.m. on April 21, while the team of workers at the shipyard of Mr. Pham Huu Xuan in Phong Thai village, Tien Thuy commune (Quynh Luu) were dredging mud and soil, they discovered an unexploded bomb under the riverbed.

Upon receiving the above information, on the morning of April 22, the Quynh Luu District Military Command, Nghe An Province Engineering Unit, Tien Thuy Commune Militia, Quynh Luu District Police, Quynh Luu District Health Department, under the direction of Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Ha - Military Commander of Quynh Luu District, dug and transported the bomb ashore.
At 9:30 a.m. the same day, the bomb was successfully transported ashore.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Ha identified this as an American-made 500 pound bomb. The bomb was about 2.15 meters long and more than 30 centimeters in diameter. This type of bomb has great destructive power, with a lethal radius of hundreds of meters.
After the bomb was brought ashore, it was successfully detonated by authorities, ensuring the safety of local people.
