Handling over 1,700 cases of trading and transporting prohibited and smuggled goods during Tet
(Baonghean.vn) – According to information from the Market Management Department, there were over 1,700 cases of trading, transporting prohibited goods, smuggled goods, manufacturing, trading counterfeit goods, violating intellectual property rights, and food safety and hygiene that were handled at the end of 2015 and the Lunar New Year 2016.
The peak period of market inspection and control at the end of 2015 and the Lunar New Year of Binh Than was implemented from December 17, 2015 to February 28, 2016. By February 25, the market management force had inspected 2,072 cases, of which 1,744 cases were handled.
Specifically, 67 cases of smuggling and prohibited goods were handled, 28 cases of counterfeit goods and intellectual property rights violations, 86 cases of commercial fraud violations; 56 cases of food safety violations and 1,505 other violations in business. The total value of fines (administrative and confiscation and destruction) is estimated at over 2.2 billion VND.

In 2015, 10 market management teams in the province conducted 9,869 inspections, of which 7,662 cases of violations of trading, transporting prohibited goods, smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, intellectual property violations and food safety were handled; exceeding 74% of the year's planned target. The total value of fines collected reached nearly 11.5 billion VND, exceeding 95% of the plan.
In 2016, the provincial market management force set targets to inspect 6,460 cases and handle 4,200 cases.
