The Government Office has just issued a document announcing the conclusion of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at a meeting to handle negative situations at weighing stations and the phenomenon of "mafia" manipulating and protecting overloaded and oversized vehicles on some roads.

The announcement clearly stated the opinion of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc requiring the resolute restoration of order and discipline in the work of controlling the load of freight vehicles on roads; having synchronous and timely solutions to prevent corruption and negative acts against the force participating in the enforcement of public duties; strictly handling according to the provisions of law against "mafia" subjects who manipulate and protect the activities of overloaded and oversized vehicles.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister also assigned the Ministry of Public Security to direct the traffic police force to coordinate with functional forces and localities to develop a coordination plan to promptly prevent the situation of "vehicle brokers" evading vehicle load inspection; direct the development of a specific plan to prevent negativity at vehicle load inspection stations; strictly handle acts of collusion and bribery to lead vehicles past or avoid inspection stations, and subjects who oppose or sabotage vehicle load inspection stations; do not allow "brokers" or "gangsters" to protect or threaten safety at weighing stations; coordinate with relevant units to establish inspection teams to handle violations of overloaded trucks, and resolutely handle violating units and individuals according to the law.

The Deputy Prime Minister also requested the Ministry of Transport to coordinate with relevant functional forces to establish inspection teams to inspect the operation of vehicle load inspection stations; strengthen inspection of compliance with regulations on loading goods at warehouses, ports, railway stations, and mines; strictly manage the loading of goods onto vehicles at the origin, ensuring the correct load for departure.

The announcement also clearly stated that the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee is responsible to the Prime Minister if the above-mentioned negative situations and issues occur./
