(Baonghean.vn) – On the afternoon of February 25, speaking with reporters, Major Nguyen Duy Ha – Captain of the Traffic Police Team, Vinh City Police said: the Traffic Police force has been penalizing drivers driving in the wrong direction on Dinh Cong Trang and Ngu Hai streets, Vinh City since February 23, 2016 after nearly 1 month of organizing instructions and reminders.

From February 23 to the afternoon of February 25, authorities have penalized about 45 cases of driving in the wrong direction on Dinh Cong Trang and Ngu Hai streets, Vinh City.

Pursuant to Decree 171/2013 of the Government regulating administrative penalties for violations in the field of road and railway traffic, Vinh City Traffic Police has imposed a fine of 300,000 VND on drivers of motorbikes and mopeds entering one-way streets; and 1 million VND on drivers of cars.

Additional penalty for motorcyclists and car drivers driving in the wrong direction on the above routes is having their driving license revoked for 30 days.

The driver of the black car going in the opposite direction on Ngu Hai Street deliberately turned around and ran away when he discovered the police.

Previously, on January 25, 2016, Vinh City piloted one-way traffic flow on Dinh Cong Trang and Ngu Hai streets. These are two streets that often experience traffic congestion during rush hour, especially on Dinh Cong Trang Street when three schools in Le Mao Ward, Vinh City, are out of school.

After a month of piloting one-way traffic, traffic conditions on these routes during rush hour have improved, and vehicles are moving much more smoothly than before; most traffic controllers know about one-way traffic regulations and drive in accordance with regulations.

Mặc dù là giờ tan học nhưng đường Đinh Công Tráng đã thông thoáng, phương tiện di chuyển dễ dàng hơn khi áp dụng đường một chiều.
Although it was after school time, Dinh Cong Trang street was clear, no traffic jam, and vehicles moved more easily when applying one-way traffic.

However, there are still cases of drivers violating the law on these routes. “There are cases of intentional violations and when encountering the authorities, they turn around and run away. In the coming time, the Vinh City Traffic Police will increase patrols to thoroughly and strictly handle cases of intentional violations,” said Major Nguyen Duy Ha.
