Punish the person who insulted the officer on duty to "get likes"

Witnessing the patrol chasing a young man for a traffic violation, Duy immediately took a picture of the scene and posted it on Facebook, swearing and insulting the law enforcement officer to "get likes".

On the morning of October 17, Phu Tan Ward Police (Ben Tre City) announced that they had just issued a decision to administratively sanction Dang Khuong Duy (born in 1996, in Tam Phuoc Commune, Chau Thanh District, Ben Tre Province) for insulting the honor and dignity of a person performing official duties.

Previously, at around 11:30 p.m. on October 12, Duy and a group of friends were sitting drinking water at a roadside cafe at Tan Thanh intersection (Phu Tan ward, Ben Tre city) when they saw the police and military forces of the ward chasing a strange young man for violating traffic laws.

Sitting there, Duy saw this young man running at high speed and hitting an electric pole, falling down on the road and injuring himself. Seeing that, Duy told his friends to come and see and used their phones to take pictures of the young man falling. Later, the police and military forces of the ward arrived to take this man to the emergency room.

At around 4:30 a.m. on October 13, 2015, Duy used his cell phone to post a photo of the scene where the young man fell, along with content cursing and swearing at the law enforcement officers and even cursing and insulting the Phu Tan Ward Police.

After identifying the person who cursed and insulted the officer on duty, Phu Tan Ward Police invited Duy to the headquarters for questioning. Faced with undeniable evidence, Duy admitted all his wrongdoings. Duy also admitted that the reason for posting on Facebook was to spread the story to “get likes”.

Considering that Duy's behavior did not reach the level of criminal prosecution, Phu Tan Ward Police imposed an administrative fine of 2.5 million VND and forced him to write a commitment not to re-offend.
