Fines for cars dropping dirt and rocks on roads in Vinh city

((Baonghean.vn) - Voters in Vinh city requested that the authorities take measures to inspect and strictly handle vehicles carrying construction materials (especially construction sand) at night without cover, causing environmental pollution and traffic safety problems.

Regarding this issue, the competent authority responded as follows:

Vinh city is in the process of rapid urbanization, so the demand for transporting construction materials is very large.

Pursuant to the functions and tasks prescribed by law, the Department of Transport has directed the Department Inspectorate to arrange 01 Regional Traffic Inspection Team to operate in Vinh city, Cua Lo town, Hung Nguyen and Nghi Loc districts to conduct traffic and transport inspections (working during office hours, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily).

In the first 9 months of 2017, the Department of Transport Inspectorate handled 22 cases of vehicles violating regulations on transporting goods, causing environmental pollution on roads in Vinh city (violations mainly occurred on the belt roads leading into Vinh city).

On the other hand, the Department of Transport Inspectorate also organized a number of surprise inspections at night in Vinh city to handle violations of vehicles transporting construction materials that were left to fall without covers or tarpaulins, or with covers or tarpaulins but still left to fall on the road surface.

To resolve the petition of Vinh city voters, the Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Vinh city People's Committee to direct the functional forces to regularly inspect and handle violations on Vinh city's roads at night according to the management hierarchy; the Department of Transport continues to direct the Department's Inspectorate to strictly handle violations according to its authority.
