Xuan Bac withdraws application for People's Artist title
The actor's withdrawal request was approved by the Department of Emulation and Commendation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism).
The reason given by actor Xuan Bac was "personal circumstances". The management agency respected his decision.
People's Artist Anh Tu - Director of the Vietnam Drama Theater - said that the Ministry-level secretariat set out the conditions for approval based on working time and medals won. Xuan Bac's profile did not meet the regulations on working time. However, the unit still decided to be flexible with his case to submit the profile to the Ministry-level council. Xuan Bac received 100% consensus votes from the grassroots level.

Previously, the Vietnam Drama Theater announced Xuan Bac as one of four Meritorious Artists proposed for consideration for the title of People's Artist.

For the title of People's Artist, the standard for the artist's professional artistic activity time must be 20 years or more. For circus and dance art forms, the professional artistic activity time must be 15 years or more. At the same time, the artist must be awarded the title of Meritorious Artist and have at least two national gold awards after being awarded the title of Meritorious Artist...
