SLNA player Pham Xuan Manh, who was just called up by Mr. Park a few days ago, was not on the list of the Vietnamese team for the World Cup qualifying matches.

According to some sources, the reason why Xuan Manh was not selected by the Korean coach is because the Nghe An player had too short a time to practice with the national team, so he could not keep up with the training plans given by the national team's coaching staff. On the other hand, playing in the same position as Xuan Manh are many players who have been with the national team for quite a long time, such as Van Thanh, Hong Duy, Tan Tai, Bui Hoang Viet Anh... These players are in quite stable form, so it is difficult for Xuan Manh to compete for a position in the national team's squad at this time.

Xuan Manh is a defender of SLNA who rose to prominence at the 2018 AFC U23 Championship, when he and the national team won the runner-up position. He was used in the quarter-final match against Iraq and has maintained his official position ever since. The defender from Nghe An was also an important member when Vietnam reached the semi-finals of the 2018 Asian Games for the first time.

However, due to injury, Xuan Manh could not maintain his form and was not called up by coach Park Hang-seo to the Vietnamese team in tournaments such as the AFF Cup, SEA Games or the 2022 World Cup qualifiers - Asia region.

In addition to Xuan Manh, there is another player from Nghe An who is not on the team list for the upcoming two matches against China and Oman: defender Trong Hoang. The player currently playing for Viettel suffered from a herniated disc, so he did not recover in time to participate in the two matches mentioned above.
