Spring Homeland 2012: "Sacred Dragons Convergence"
The Spring Homeland 2012 program with the theme "Sacred Dragons Convergence" will take place at 8:00 p.m. on January 15 and will be broadcast live on VTV2 and VTV4 channels - Vietnam Television.

At the press conference held on the afternoon of January 9 about the program "Spring Homeland 2012", Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Thanh Son, who is also Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, said: the program "Spring Homeland 2012" will have many innovations compared to "Spring Homeland" of previous years.
The program takes place on January 15 (ie December 22 of the lunar calendar) with many meaningful activities. This year in particular, the traditional fish release ceremony on the occasion of Ong Cong, Ong Tao Tet will be performed at Bac Ho Fish Pond. The highlight of the program is the "Spring Homeland" art exchange night at the stage in Ba Dinh Square and will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television channels with the participation of Vietnamese artists at home and abroad.
In 2011, the contribution of overseas Vietnamese to the country was practically demonstrated in the highest remittance figure ever.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, said: "In difficult times, people are more concerned about their relatives in the country, so in recent times, people have sent more remittances, higher than last year, an increase of 15-20% compared to the domestic amount. The responsibility of people to the country is still great, they try to accumulate to send back to the country. People are still steadfast in the face of difficulties and challenges in the host country and at home."
The program "Spring Homeland" is an annual meeting program on the occasion of Tet with representatives of our overseas Vietnamese. The theme of Spring Homeland 2012 is "Sacred Dragon Convergence" with the expectation that the country will have a change, reap many new successes, including significant contributions from overseas Vietnamese.
