Xuan Truong and Duy Manh must practice separately in the Vietnam Olympic Team

Right in the first training session of the Vietnam Olympic team, two players Xuan Truong and Duy Manh could not practice with their teammates.

Since the start of V-League 2015, Xuan Truong and Duy Manh have been indispensable players for HAGL and Hanoi T&T. However, due to playing at a high frequency in the harshest football environment in the country, both have suffered unexpected injuries.

The captain of the mountain town team suffered an ankle injury in the match against Can Tho in round 7 of the V-League. This is also the reason why Xuan Truong could not participate in the away match against Dong Thap in round 8. Even more regrettably, the injury of the player from Thai Nguyen is predicted to be more serious than expected and he will have to rest for at least 1 month before he can play again.

However, coach Miura still called Xuan Truong up to the national team in this training session with the hope that when he joins the team, the young talent of HAGL can recover from his injury sooner than expected with the care of doctors at the Olympic team.

Similarly, Duy Manh also suffered an injury while playing for Hanoi T&T in the preliminary round of the Asian Cup 1. However, the injury of this young midfielder is not too serious and he can soon return to training with his teammates.

During the training session on February 24, Duy Manh and Xuan Truong had to practice separately outside the field. Both of them mainly did light jogging to recover their muscle groups, avoid collisions in the confrontational exercises as well as the physical “torture” training program to release the inertia of Coach Miura with the other players.

Notably, in the training match, striker Cong Phuong scored 2 beautiful goals and received high praise from the Japanese coach. In the next month, the Vietnam Olympic team will continue to practice 2 sessions/day towards the U23 Asian qualifiers and further, the SEA Games taking place in June in Singapore./.
