Tropical depression appears in the East Sea, heavy rain in the Central region
(Baonghean.vn) - According to today's weather forecast (October 31) by the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the low pressure area over the Truong Sa archipelago has strengthened into a tropical depression. Due to the influence of cold air, from now until the end of the night of November 1, in the coastal provinces of Central and South Central Vietnam, there will continue to be moderate rain, heavy rain, very heavy rain in some places and scattered thunderstorms.
1. Tropical depression in the East Sea
At 01:00 on October 31, the center of the tropical depression was at about 7.6 degrees North latitude; 111.3 degrees East longitude, right in the southwest area of Truong Sa archipelago. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression was level 6 (40-50km/h), gusting to level 8.

It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will move mainly in a westerly direction, traveling 15-20km per hour and may strengthen further. At 1:00 a.m. on November 1, the center of the tropical depression will be at about 7.8 degrees North latitude; 107.0 degrees East longitude, about 110km southeast of Con Dao. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression will be at level 6-7 (40-60km/hour), gusting to level 9.
Due to the influence of low pressure combined with cold air, in the southwestern sea of Truong Sa archipelago, the sea from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau (including Phu Quy and Con Dao island districts) there will be showers and thunderstorms with the possibility of tornadoes and waterspouts; strong northeast winds of level 6-7, gusting to level 9, waves from 2.0-3.0m high; rough seas.

2. Rain, heavy rain in the Central and Southern mainland
Due to the influence of cold air, from now until the end of the night of November 1, in the coastal provinces of Central and South Central regions, there will continue to be moderate rain, heavy rain, very heavy rain in some places and scattered thunderstorms. The total rainfall for the period is generally 50-150mm, especially in the provinces of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, some places will have over 200mm.
Due to the influence of the tropical low pressure circulation, from tonight (October 31) to the end of November 2, in the South, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, very heavy rain in some places and scattered thunderstorms with total rainfall of 100-150mm, in some places over 200mm. During the thunderstorm, there is a possibility of tornadoes, waterspouts and strong gusts of wind of level 7-8.
