Rice exports will decrease by more than 1 million tons
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has just forecast that rice exports in 2012 will reach about 6.2 million tons, an increase of nearly 0.8 million tons compared to last month's forecast, but a decrease of more than 1 million tons compared to 2011.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, recently Vietnam's rice import demand has increased in some markets such as China, Malaysia, Ivory Coast, Senegal... However, traditional markets such as the Philippines and Indonesia have significantly reduced rice imports from Vietnam.
