Vietnam's steel exports estimated at about 2 billion USD

The Vietnam Steel Association (VSA) said that steel export turnover for the whole year of 2012 is expected to reach about 2 billion USD.

VSA also forecasts that from now until the end of the year, domestic demand for iron and steel will increase sharply again because during the construction season, many projects are in the completion phase.

If the amount of steel consumed in August reached 350,000 tons, by September it had gradually increased to nearly 400,000 tons.

According to this agency, the total amount of steel exported in 2012 is estimated at about 2 million tons.

Up to now, the total steel inventory is only about 320,000 tons, down 55,000 tons (14%) compared to the same period in 2011./.
