Speaking at the launching ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Dang Van Hieu, Deputy Minister of Public Security, stated that 2015 is a year of many important political events for the country, one of the immediate key events is the 132nd Inter-Parliamentary Union General Assembly, held in Hanoi from March 28 to April 1, 2015.
Vietnam's hosting of the session on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of the Vietnamese National Assembly's accession to the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the 126th anniversary of the establishment of the Inter-Parliamentary Union is a political event of great historical and diplomatic significance. The success of organizing this Congress is the success of the entire political system and people of Vietnam in the spirit of proactive and active integration into the international community.
Therefore, Senior Lieutenant General Dang Van Hieu requested the Hanoi City Police to have specific, comprehensive, and absolutely safe protection plans for IPU 132 and major political events of the country in any situation. The Hanoi City Police and police units nationwide must perform well the following tasks: Advise Party committees and authorities at all levels to strengthen propaganda and mobilize the masses so that everyone can see more clearly their responsibilities, actively participate in the movement of the whole people to protect national security, maintain security and order right from the grassroots level; proactively coordinate closely with the army and all levels and sectors in implementing protection plans.
Taking place in Hanoi from March 25 to April 1, IPU-132 has 126 delegations registered to participate. Among them, there are 34 Presidents of Parliaments, National Assemblies, 31 Vice Presidents of Parliaments, National Assemblies and 2 Associate Presidents along with many parliamentarians from all over the world.
