Departure to participate in the 7th National Sports Festival in 2014
(Baonghean.vn) - On September 22, in Vinh City, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a ceremony to send off the Nghe An sports delegation to the 7th National Sports Festival - 2014. Attending were comrades: Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of relevant departments and branches, and 220 athletes of the teams participating in the Festival.

To prepare for the 7th National Sports Festival, the Nghe An provincial sports delegation has selected 173 athletes for training to compete in 14/36 sports including: taekwondo, traditional martial arts, boxing, wushu, pencak silat, wrestling, athletics, weightlifting, sepak takraw, shuttlecock kicking, karate, petanque, vovinam and football. The target of the Nghe An provincial sports delegation is to achieve 14-17 gold medals, ranking 15-13 out of 66 provinces, cities and sectors. Currently, all basic preparations have been completed, the teams are actively training at national training centers and localities with strong sports movements such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Soc Trang, Ninh Binh... In addition to focusing on professional guidance, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also pays attention to educating ethics, style, competition psychology and enhancing nutrition, ensuring enough health for athletes to compete and achieve high results.

Speaking at the Departure Ceremony, comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh hoped that the members of the Nghe An sports delegation would always uphold the spirit of solidarity and the highest discipline, overcome all difficulties and obstacles, strive for the flag and colors to bring glory to the province's sports, and at the same time build a beautiful image of the people of Nghe An through exchanges and competitions.
