(Baonghean) -With a tradition of 25 years, teachers and students of Anh Son Secondary School have overcome many difficulties and challenges, reaping many sweet fruits. It is the first national standard secondary school in the district, achieving many years of excellent progress, and receiving many noble awards.

To train a team of excellent students for the district, the Anh Son Education and Training Department consulted with the district People's Committee to open a class to train excellent students in Literature and Mathematics for 7th graders (10-year system). Due to the fierce war, the class was then merged into Lang Son Secondary School, with Mr. Nguyen Viet Nghiem as principal. Mr. Le Tien Thi and Mr. Nguyen Van Nhung were the ones who trained many excellent students in the 3 years from 1972-1975.

In 1975, when the country was unified, the Department of Education and Training decided to move the gifted student training classes to the district center and combine them with Phuc Son Secondary School. From here, the number of students increased day by day, the number of teachers increased day by day and they had a lot of experience in nurturing gifted students. In 1977, the Department decided to develop into 2 groups: Literature and Math, combined with Thach Son Secondary School, with Mr. Tran Ngoc Hoa as principal. Every year, the school produced many generations of gifted students.

To improve the quality of gifted students, creating a source for high school. In 1985, the Department coordinated with Anh Son High School to transfer specialized classes from Thach Son Secondary School to Anh Son High School, with Mr. Pham Huu Tan as principal and Mr. Le Van The in charge of the specialized class. With the enthusiasm and passion of the teaching staff and diligent and studious students, in the 2 school years from 1985-1987, the school trained many gifted students at the district and provincial levels, gradually creating trust for the Party Committee, government and people of Anh Son, attracting a large number of students from remote areas to study.

In 1987, with the consent of the District People's Committee, the Department of Education and Training decided to separate the specialized block from Anh Son High School to establish a separate school called Anh Son Gifted School.

Over the past 25 years, generations of principals such as Mr. Le Van The, Mr. Bui Duc Lan, Mr. Le Dang Tin, and now Mr. Tran Van Thanh have done a good job of advising on investment in building school facilities. From temporary level 4 classrooms, the school has now been built and developed in a solid, modern direction and gradually standardized. The school has full classrooms, computer rooms, laboratory practice rooms, offices of school organizations, a system of playgrounds, green, clean, and beautiful scenery.

Anh Son Secondary School received the certificate of recognition for meeting national standards for the period 2001 - 2010.

The school has 43 staff, teachers, and employees. 100% of teachers have qualified qualifications, including 36 university graduates, 2 masters, 5 college graduates, 36 teachers are excellent teachers at the district level, 22 teachers are excellent teachers at the provincial level, 16 scientific and technological topics are ranked A and B by the Department of Education and Training. From the 1997-1998 school year up to now, the school has had 7,139 excellent students at the district level, 758 excellent students at the provincial level, and 3 excellent students at the national level. Under this school, there are 8 cadres and teachers who were promoted by the Department of Education and Training to become management staff of the Department and schools in the district. From here, thousands of students have become doctors, engineers, and district and commune-level cadres. Every year, Anh Son Secondary School has provided high schools in the district with a quality student force, some of whom go to study at Phan Boi Chau Specialized School.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Sang - Vice Chairman of Anh Son District People's Committee, a former student of the school, said about Anh Son Secondary School: "Studying in the years when the school was newly established, studying and building at the same time were the most difficult years, but we felt more deeply the immense love of the teachers in the career of educating people. The teachers devoted all their heart to cultivating knowledge and communication skills to stimulate the spirit of learning and creativity of students. More than 20 years after graduation, I see that the school has changed a lot, but still maintains its traditions. We always feel lucky to study at Anh Son Gifted School to have more solid conditions in the process of studying in high school and university".

With the above contributions, Anh Son Secondary School has been recognized by the leaders of the province, Anh Son district, and the Department of Education and Training. It has received many noble awards from the Party and the State: the Provincial People's Committee has awarded many certificates of merit, the leading unit of the secondary school level, the emulation flag for outstanding collectives; the Provincial Labor Federation has awarded the emulation flag for good workers and building a strong Trade Union. In 2007, the school was awarded a certificate of merit by the Prime Minister, recognized as a school meeting national standards for the period 2001-2010; in 2009, the President awarded the Third Class Labor Medal. Many teachers and staff were also awarded certificates of merit by the Provincial People's Committee, the Minister of Education and Training, and the Prime Minister.
