The representative of the self-proclaimed “Donetsk People’s Republic” (DPR) at the Minsk talks, Denis Pushilin, said that the large-scale conflict in Donbass could escalate in the next few hours.

RIA Novosti news agency this afternoon, June 14, quoted DPR representative at the Minsk negotiations, Mr. Denis Pushilin, saying that the conflict could soon escalate in Eastern Ukraine and could lead to catastrophic consequences.

“Donbass is on the brink of a large-scale war. The situation may worsen in the next few hours,” said Denis Pushilin.

“We are on the verge of a large-scale war. The conflict is no longer a civil war of Ukrainians. What is happening recently is completely similar to what is happening in Syria, Yemen, or the uprisings in Macedonia ... and can lead to particularly serious consequences,' the DPR representative stressed, warning that the situation could become serious in the next few hours.

Responding to RIA Novosti's question about the possibility of resuming military operations in Donbass, Mr. Pushilin said that whether the conflict continues or not depends on the role of the international community.
