Death sentence upheld for drug trafficking from Laos to Vietnam

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 26, the Supreme People's Court of Appeal in Nghe An dismissed the appeal, upholding the first instance verdict of the People's Court of Nghe An province, sentencing defendant Nguyen Trong Xin (born in 1976, in Hung Phu commune, Hung Nguyen district) to death for the crime of "illegal drug trafficking".

According to the first instance verdict, after dropping out of school, Nguyen Trong Xin went to Laos in 2000 to work as a manual laborer. Hien was also arrested later and confessed to Xin's actions and those of several other associates.
