Comments on the draft Resolution on taking a vote of confidence for people holding positions elected or approved by the National Assembly or People's Council

(Baonghean.vn) - In preparation for the upcoming 4th Session of the 13th National Assembly, this morning, October 10, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation held a Conference to collect comments on the Draft Resolution of the National Assembly on the vote of confidence for those holding positions elected or approved by the National Assembly and People's Councils. Comrade Pham Van Tan - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation chaired the conference.

At the conference, representatives of the leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and a number of relevant sectors at the provincial level, the Standing Committee of the People's Council and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at the district level emphasized the necessity of issuing a Resolution of the National Assembly on taking a vote of confidence for those holding positions elected or approved by the National Assembly and People's Councils so that the National Assembly and People's Councils can better fulfill their responsibilities in enhancing the effectiveness of supervision, further enhancing the responsibility of those holding assigned positions and jobs; as a basis for better implementation of planning, evaluation, arrangement and more effective use of cadres.

Delegates said that it is necessary to specify the scope of people who are eligible for a vote of confidence and the authority of organizations and units responsible for taking a vote of confidence. The principle of taking a vote must ensure publicity, fairness, and accurate assessment of the situation, avoiding cases of taking advantage of the vote to eliminate officials. Some delegates suggested that it is necessary to specify the use of the results of the vote of confidence and the vote of confidence; the procedure for taking a vote of confidence must be simple but still ensure effectiveness. The vote of confidence should be taken once a year, if after 2 years the confidence is not guaranteed, the person should resign.

At the conference, delegates also commented on the text structure and some wording of the draft Resolution.
