(Baonghean) -Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Central Committee of the Youth Union - Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union:

In recent years, the crime of trafficking in women and children has become increasingly complicated, serious and has tended to increase, mainly concentrated in mountainous districts, remote areas, and border areas. Realizing that, in recent years, the Provincial Youth Union has coordinated with relevant agencies to promote propaganda, dissemination and legal education to union members and youth in the whole province, focusing on groups of union members and youth in mountainous areas and areas with a large population of ethnic minorities. Along with that, the Provincial Youth Union has issued Instruction No. 67 HD/TD dated October 21, 2011 on the establishment and organization of activities of volunteer youth teams to prevent crime and social evils in residential areas; Plan No. 283 dated March 30, 2012 on implementing the national program on crime prevention, drug prevention, and human trafficking prevention in 2012 among union members and youth.

However, with increasingly sophisticated and cunning tricks of those who specialize in trafficking women and children, especially taking advantage of familiar relationships in families, clans, villages... to deceive and entice, these are loopholes that victims do not fully anticipate, so there have been many cases of falling into desperate situations, making mistakes in foreign lands as reported by Nghe An newspaper. To contribute to overcoming the above situation, in the coming time, the Provincial Youth Union will strengthen its grasp of the grassroots situation, promptly provide information to the authorities, and contribute to the fight against crimes of trafficking women and children. Focus on improving the quality of the Youth Union - Association - Team organization, especially at the branch level; bring the dissemination of legal education into activities, gradually equipping young people with skills to prevent and fight against illegal acts. Organize meetings, encourage, share, and help victims after being brought back to their hometowns by the authorities so that they can soon stabilize their lives, overcome their inferiority complex, and integrate into the community.
