During his election campaign, US President-elect Donald Trump vowed to build a wall along the US-Mexico border to prevent illegal immigration. Architects from Estudio 3.14 in Guadalajara, Mexico proposed to realize this idea by designing a 3,145 km long pink wall called "Prison Wall", Business Insider reported.
Architect Norberto Miranda said the purpose of Estudio 3.14’s wall design was to show its impossibility. According to Miranda, a border wall would certainly not improve relations between the United States and Mexico. The mountains in the border area also make construction difficult.
CNBC estimates that the wall will cost the US government $15-25 billion. The cost of maintaining and hiring 21,000 agents to patrol the wall is about $2.1 billion a year. Mexican President Enrique Peña has also stressed that his country will not contribute to the cost of building the wall.

The design team created a graphic model of a pink wall, as Mr. Trump has repeatedly emphasized that "the wall will be very eye-catching." |

Stretching from the Pacific coast to the Gulf of Mexico, the wall would divide the southeastern United States from northern Mexico. |
 |
The wall would include a prison to detain illegal border crossers. Inside the prison would also be a factory where prisoners would work to repair and maintain the wall. |
 |
By design, Americans could visit a shopping mall built into the wall. |

According to Miranda, the mountains along the US-Mexico border make the wall project almost impossible and very expensive. |

The border wall project could take up to 16 years due to terrain and climate challenges. |
