Yen Thanh: Accelerating land consolidation phase II
(Baonghean) Yen Thanh rice district is promoting land consolidation to continue building large-scale model fields, creating conditions for intensive farming and bringing mechanization into agriculture.
These days, the leaders of Nam Thanh commune are almost always staying in the fields to direct and closely supervise the machinery and equipment used to dig and build embankments on the banks of the fields.
Mr. Phan The Trung - Chairman of Nam Thanh Commune People's Committee said: The commune has an agricultural land area of 270 hectares, about 5,432 plots, this second conversion will be reduced to more than 2,000 plots. Nam Thanh has been approved by Yen Thanh District People's Committee for the second agricultural land conversion project, the earliest in the district. The commune has implemented new embankment and repair of 162 bank lines with a length of 40,440m, renovated the old canal system of 46 lines, 14,437m long, and built 89 new canal lines with a length of 27,441m. Up to this point, the commune has dug and filled nearly 40,000m3 of soil/104,000m3 of the plan, worth about 4.5 billion VND. Of which, people contributed 1.5 billion VND in 2 years, the rest is from the commune budget. Around October 30, 2012, it will end to organize land division for the people. After the land conversion, ensure the main road is 5-7m wide, 400-500m apart, the 2m wide embankment is 100-150m apart. Each household will only have 1-2 plots of land left to produce on 1-2 fields.
Motor vehicles are carrying out land consolidation work in Yen Thanh.
In Lien Thanh commune, up to this point, land conversion has been carried out simultaneously in all fields. Mr. Dang Van Trach - Chairman of Lien Thanh Commune People's Committee said: Lien Thanh has been implementing the land consolidation work since August 15, up to this point, a large volume has been carried out, such as digging and filling 140,000 m3 of land for embankments, embankments, and axis embankments... The main axis embankment system from the village to the field is 6m wide, the embankment is 4m wide. In particular, the people of the whole commune have voluntarily donated over 27 hectares of land. The commune has consolidated land according to the planning of production areas suitable for crops. For example, Cay Gao field has planned over 100 areas for rice seed production, Luc Dan area has planned to become a family farm, mainly developing rice fish, Bo Ro area mainly developing other crops... The total value is about 4.4 billion VND, people contribute 70%, the commune 30%. It is expected that land distribution to the people will be completed by October 10.
Mr. Si Hung - Vice Chairman of Yen Thanh District People's Committee added: Implementing the Resolution of the 25th District Party Congress, in 2011, Yen Thanh has implemented early "land consolidation" for 3 pilot communes: Lang Thanh, Phuc Thanh, Dong Thanh. In 2012, Yen Thanh continued to convert land for 12 communes, thanks to the experience of doing it in 3 pilot communes, so this land conversion with a large scale of about 5,000 hectares in the localities is quite effective. Up to this point, the whole district has mobilized over 600 mechanical vehicles to participate in land conversion, digging and filling about 600,000 m3 of land, worth about 60-80 billion VND. The land conversion is all associated with the planning of internal irrigation traffic. The main routes are 5-7 m in size, the embankment is 4-6 m, the embankment is 1.5-2 m. The target is 70% 1 plot/household, the remaining 30% 2 plots/household. Regarding the policy mechanism, the district supports each commune with about 50 million VND, mainly contributed by the people and allocated from the commune budget to implement land consolidation and plot exchange.
Yen Thanh strives to complete the land consolidation work by 2014. In the immediate future, the goal is to complete the land consolidation work of 12 communes by October 30 and organize the land division for people to improve and level the fields in preparation for the spring rice crop.
