Yen Thanh mobilized over 200 people to control the forest fire at Cao Son Cave.

(Baonghean.vn) -According to information from the leader of My Thanh commune, at around 10:00 a.m. on July 23, a forest fire broke out in Dong Cao Son, the border between My Thanh - Yen Thanh and 3 communes including Thai Son, Quang Son, Hoa Son of Do Luong district.

Cao Son Cave belongs to hamlet 11 and hamlet 12 of My Thanh. It has a slope of about 15 degrees and the height from the foot of the cave to the top of the cave is about 200-300 meters.

Upon receiving the news, My Thanh commune mobilized more than 200 local forces, including civil servants, police, commune militia and people from hamlets 11 and 12, with the support of the core platoons of Cong Thanh and Dai Thanh. After approaching the fire, with the support of the forest rangers, the Forest Protection Management Board, the district police, and other communes, My Thanh mobilized 7 fire blowers, 3 chainsaws and fire fighting equipment to actively support the fire, controlling it from spreading widely.

The initial cause of the fire is being investigated, but according to information from local people, it is believed that it was caused by people burning bees in the forest.

After more than 6 hours of active firefighting (from 11am to 4:30pm the same day), the fire was brought under control. Initial statistics show that the forest damage in My Thanh commune was insignificant (about 0.5 ha). There are currently no specific statistics on the forest damage in Thai Son and Quang Son communes, but according to information from Regiment 1 of Division 324 supporting Do Luong in firefighting, the damaged forest area is at least over 5 ha./.
