Yen Thanh: Exciting cultural and sports activities to celebrate major holidays
(Baonghean) -Towards the holidays: Southern Liberation (April 30), 122nd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19), 110th birthday of comrade Phan Dang Luu (May 5), in Yen Thanh district, many cultural and sports activities are taking place to celebrate major events throughout the district.
The Nghe folk song festival, associated with the Sen village singing festival with the theme "Offering you folk songs", praising the Party, Uncle Ho, the innovative homeland, praising the spirit of labor, and love of life is taking place in localities in the district. The preliminary round took place at 4 clusters of Lang Thanh (April 19), Trung Thanh (April 21), Quang Thanh (April 24), and the Cultural and Sports Center (April 28) to select excellent performances to perform in the district on the evening of May 3. Currently, the 2 clusters of Lang Thanh and Trung Thanh have completed the preliminary round and selected 6 excellent units to participate in the final round.

Men's doubles table tennis competition
Also on this occasion, Yen Thanh organized volleyball and table tennis tournaments throughout the district. In Hoa Thanh (the hometown of comrade Phan Dang Luu), the commune organized an expanded football tournament for workers, farmers and soldiers (taking place from April 20 to April 30). The table tennis tournament had the participation of 96 athletes from 12 units, divided into 2 age groups: young people and the elderly, with the following events: men's singles, women's singles, mixed doubles, women's doubles, and men's doubles. The volleyball tournament had the participation of 41 teams with nearly 500 athletes competing in 7 clusters (Tay Thanh, Ly Thanh, Son Thanh, Bac Thanh, Nhan Thanh, Duc Thanh, District Center). On the afternoon of April 23, the volleyball qualifying round ended and 14 teams were selected to participate in the final round in the district, which will take place from May 2 to May 5.
