Yen Thanh: Found the body of a student swept away by water on Vu Giang river
(Baonnghean.vn) - On the morning of September 20, the authorities of Khanh Thanh commune (Yen Thanh district) said: after nearly 2 days and nights of searching, the authorities found the body of Pham Cong Mau, born in 2001, residing in Phu Tap hamlet, Khanh Thanh commune - a student who drowned and went missing on his way home from school at noon on September 18.

Mau's body was found at 7:00 a.m. on September 20, under Bridge 534 flowing to Vien Thanh Commune, about 1km from the drowning scene. Before that, at around 12:00 noon on September 18, Phan Van Phuoc, Dang Thi Ly, and Hoang Cong Mau in Phu Tap Hamlet, Khanh Thanh Commune, on their way home from school, due to the rising water level on the Vu Giang River, the three children got on a local resident's car to cross.
The strong current pulled the boat out into the middle of the river. Since they could not swim, the children were swept away. Phan Van Phuoc and Dang Thi Ly were rescued by local people in time and luckily escaped death. Meanwhile, Hoang Cong Mau was drowned by the strong current.
Yen Thanh district as well as Khanh Thanh commune authorities visited and encouraged the families of the drowned children and together with the families carried out the burial procedures for Mau's body./.
