Qualification requirements in recruiting English teachers

According to the National Foreign Language Project 2020, foreign language teachers must have teaching language proficiency two levels higher than the general level of teaching.

Specifically, the qualifications of English teachers at primary and secondary levels must reach at least level 4/6 as issued by the European Association of Foreign Language Testing Organizations (KNLNN); English teachers at high schools, continuing education, colleges, and vocational schools must reach level 5/6.

On July 29, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced a reference table for converting some English certificates according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR). With these level regulations, the Department requires districts to guide teachers in improving their capacity.
