Yonhap: South Korea fires warning shots at North Korean ship crossing border

Yonhap quoted the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff as saying that at 10:22 a.m. on June 30 (local time), a North Korean ship crossed the Northern Limit Line (NLL) and advanced into South Korean territorial waters for about 1km and only returned to the North when the South Korean military fired warning shots.

According to the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff, "the South Korean military is closely monitoring every move of the North Korean army and is ready to respond to any situation."

Previously on June 17, South Korea repatriated five North Korean fishermen who were rescued from a drifting ship in the East Sea within South Korean territorial waters./.
