Farmers need to proactively prevent pests and diseases in rice in the coming time. |
It is forecasted that in the coming time, rice plants will move to the panicle stage, creating favorable conditions for brown planthoppers and brown spot disease to develop, accumulate in number and increase over a wide area. Therefore, localities should strengthen the investigation and detection of planthopper nests and direct timely spraying when the planthoppers are still young.
Farmers should choose specific pesticides to kill planthoppers: Pymetrozine (Chess 50WG...), Dinotefuran (Oshin 20WP, Cyo super 200 WP...), Lambda-cyhalothrin + Thiamethoxam, Nitenpyram (Elsin 10 EC)... For brown spot disease, in rice areas with a rate of 5 - 10% or more infected, farmers should be instructed to keep enough water in the fields and use one of the drugs with active ingredients: Viladamycin, Hexaconazole.
