At the discussion, comrade Truong Thi Mai affirmed that in recent years, the Party and State have had many policies and strategies to develop female cadres in the political system from the central to grassroots levels.

Thanks to the attention paid to the work of sourcing, planning, training, fostering and using female cadres, along with the efforts of the female cadres themselves, the proportion of female leaders and managers has been constantly increasing. Many female cadres have been trusted to hold important positions and through practical work, have affirmed and promoted their roles in Party agencies, government, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at all levels. The proportion of female cadres participating in Party committees at all levels is increasing.

In recent times, Vietnam has been a country with a high proportion of female National Assembly deputies in the region. In the 2021-2026 term, 151/499 National Assembly deputies are female. Notably, the Chairwoman of the 14th National Assembly is the first Vietnamese female politician to hold this position.

In the coming time, facing increasingly heavy, difficult and complicated political requirements and tasks, the building of a contingent of cadres in general, and female cadres in particular, with sufficient capacity and qualities, equal to the tasks, contributing to the successful implementation of the two strategic tasks of building and defending the Fatherland, becomes increasingly urgent.

To effectively carry out the work of female cadres in the coming time, the seminar identified a number of basic goals, including: Continuing to implement the leadership and direction of the Party and State on implementing gender equality goals, contributing to achieving sustainable development goals by 2030, effectively implementing the National Strategy on Gender Equality for the period 2021 - 2030, aiming to continue narrowing the gender gap, creating conditions and opportunities for women and men to be equal in participating and enjoying the results in all areas of social life.

At the same time, localities need to pay more attention to planning female cadres for leadership and management positions. It is necessary to pay attention to developing a contingent of female cadres commensurate with the important role of women in the overall strategy of the Party's cadre work. Women's work must be closely related to each subject, region, and area, promoting the spirit of ownership, potential, creativity and the highest ability to contribute of women of all classes to the development of the country.

Along with that,It is necessary to improve the quality of activities of women's unions at all levels in the current period.;Select activities that are truly suitable to the conditions of the association and its members, support women in economic development, improve their qualifications, and participate more and more in political and social activities.

When receiving active support from Party committees, authorities, and organizations, along with their own efforts, Vietnamese women will have the opportunity to contribute more and more to the country's development, affirming their image and qualities in the new period.
