10 traffic violations, drivers do not have to go to the treasury to pay

If you commit a traffic violation such as not keeping a safe distance, driving against traffic signs or road markings... you can pay a fine directly to the traffic police.

Article 56 of the Law on Handling of Administrative Violations stipulates that administrative sanctions without making a record are applied in cases of warning or fines of up to VND 250,000 for individuals, and VND 500,000 for organizations.

Therefore, car drivers will be fined directly without having to pay at the treasury. The person imposing the fine must tear off the receipt (printed by the Ministry of Finance) and give it to the violating organization or individual.

According to Decree 46, violations by individuals with fines under VND 250,000 include:

- Failure to comply with the commands and instructions of traffic signs and road markings.

- Changing direction without giving the right of way to: Pedestrians, wheelchairs of disabled people crossing the road at crosswalks; non-motorized vehicles traveling on the road section reserved for non-motorized vehicles.

- Changing direction without giving way to: Vehicles going in the opposite direction; pedestrians, wheelchairs of disabled people crossing the street where there are no crosswalks.

- When stopping or parking the vehicle without signaling to let other drivers know.

- When parking a car in part of the roadway without placing a hazard warning sign as prescribed.

- Not installing warning signs on the front of the towing vehicle or the rear of the towed vehicle; operating a trailer without warning signs as prescribed.

- Not keeping a safe distance to avoid a collision with the vehicle in front or not keeping the distance as prescribed by the "Minimum distance between two vehicles" sign.

- Failure to comply with regulations on giving way at intersections.

- Honking in urban areas and densely populated areas from 10:00 p.m. the previous day to 5:00 a.m. the following day, except for priority vehicles on duty as prescribed.

- Not wearing a seat belt (where available) while the vehicle is moving./.
