(Baonghean.vn) - By the end of October 2017, Nghe An tourism industry had achieved and exceeded the target set for the whole year 2017.

A quick report from Nghe An Department of Tourism shows that in the first 10 months of 2017, the total number of tourists is estimated at over 5.6 million, up 32.2% over the same period in 2016, of which, tourists staying are estimated at 3.6 million, up 31% over the same period in 2016, achieving 100% of the 2017 plan. International visitors are estimated at 71,000, up 22.1% over the same period in 2016.

Notably, total tourism revenue is estimated at VND5,659 billion, of which revenue from services in accommodation establishments is estimated at VND2,686 billion, up 34.3% over the same period in 2016, reaching 104% of the 2017 plan.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh An - Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism said that in the remaining 2 months, the whole industry will continue to make efforts and be determined to exceed the set targets, creating a solid momentum for development in 2018.

In particular, at this time, the peak season for sea tourism has passed, Nghe An tourism has shifted its focus to developing community tourism and eco-tourism in the Western region. Actual surveys show that the number of tourists, especially international tourists, seeking this type of tourism is increasing.
