11 wooden blocks disguised in cars transported downstream

(Baonghean.vn) - Major Tran Van Hung, Captain of Team 2, Environmental Crime Prevention Police Department (PC49) said that the unit is temporarily holding more than 11 cubic meters of illegally transported wood in Tuong Duong and Anh Son districts.

Previously, at around 10:00 p.m. on April 8, upon receiving a report from the people, at Na Ca village, Xieng My commune (Tuong Duong), the environmental police force discovered and arrested a truck with license plate 37C-12975 driven by Mr. Phan Van Thien (born in 1984, residing in Phuong hamlet, Nghia Xuan commune, Quy Hop district) running on National Highway 48B in the direction of Xieng My - Quy Hop, illegally transporting forest products.

Checking the vehicle, the authorities discovered more than 9 cubic meters of wood belonging to group III, which is on the list of prohibited illegal logging and transportation. "The wood did not have the Forest Ranger hammer mark, did not have a transportation permit from the authorities, and the driver did not show the origin of the wood," said Major Hung.

Also on the night of April 8, authorities continued to detect and arrest a case of illegal transportation of forest products in Cao Veu village, Phuc Son commune, Anh Son district, seizing 2.1 cubic meters of round wood.

The authorities have drawn up a record and temporarily detained the wood, bringing it back to the unit for handling according to regulations.
