14 Covid-19 patients in Nghe An become seriously ill
(Baonghean.vn) - At the final line of treatment for Covid-19 patients in Nghe An, there are 14 patients in critical condition, in addition to dozens of severe cases that are being closely monitored.
According to the report of the Tropical Disease Center (Nghe An General Hospital), on February 14, there are nearly 200 Covid-19 patients being treated here. This is the place to treat severe patients, but there are currently no more empty beds.
Currently, there are 14 critical patients here. Of which, one patient requires invasive ventilation, two patients require non-invasive ventilation, and three patients require high-flow oxygen (HFNC). In addition, there are 65 severe cases that are being closely monitored.
Among the patients being treated here, there are 29 pregnant patients, of whom 15 have now safely given birth. The hospital is also treating 16 children; 5 cancer patients and 9 people on dialysis.

Among the patients, 11 were over 90 years old; 15 were between 80 and 89 years old; 15 were between 70 and 79 years old and 14 were between 60 and 69 years old. Many elderly patients were unable to take care of themselves. During the day, another patient died, bringing the total number of deaths in Nghe An province to 58.
Currently, Nghe An detects an average of more than 2,000 new Covid-19 cases every day, bringing the total number of infections since the beginning of the epidemic to more than 33,000 people. More than half of these are still being treated, mostly asymptomatic or with mild symptoms, so they are treated at home. Cases that do not meet the conditions for home treatment will be transferred to district-level collection areas or field hospitals. Severe cases will be transferred to the Tropical Disease Center for treatment.
