The directive clearly stated the names and addresses of 14 slaughterhouses in 14 provinces and cities that had violated food safety regulations in slaughtering activities. To rectify this situation, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong requested the People's Committees of provinces and cities to strictly prohibit the trading and slaughtering of dead and diseased animals for food, and to organize propaganda to slaughterhouses and livestock households. In addition, it is necessary to arrange locations for the treatment and destruction of dead and diseased animals.
In particular, it is necessary to rectify the transport inspection work at animal quarantine stations at traffic hubs and collection points in the provinces to detect sick livestock or livestock that do not ensure food hygiene and safety. When detected, it is necessary to strictly handle violations. And clarify the responsibilities of local leaders and units that allow violations of veterinary and food safety laws to occur in the management area.
