Previously, the fishing boat with license plate NA 90942TS and 14 crew members from Nghe An, captained by Vu Long Hai (born in 1983, residing in Quynh Long commune, Quynh Luu district), was operating at sea, in the border area between Thanh Hoa and Nghe An when the engine broke down and the engine compartment leaked water.
The crew tried every way to fix it but could not. The ship drifted, water flooded the engine compartment and was in danger of sinking. The captain requested an urgent rescue.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Nghe An Border Guard Command directed the coastal border units to coordinate with local authorities to notify the vehicle owners and vessels operating near the area of the distressed vessel to come to the rescue, using the Border Guard's information network to maintain contact with the distressed fishing vessel. At the same time, mobilized a force of 15 officers and soldiers from Squadron 2 and the vessel to go on the rescue mission.
